Lolo Jones, who took home the USA and World Champion in the event of a hurdle in 2013, has only reached this position with a lot of hard work and a lot of patience. Jones experienced a tough childhood because she was born to a single mother within a large household. She lived with her mom in the basement of a church, and was constantly on the go. Jones had to attend a new high school each year because of her nomadic background. Jones who was interested in athletics at Theodore Roosevelt high school, was able to live in a different place from her mother so that she could pursue her interests. Jones lived with four distinct families, which helped ensure that she was studying at a high level.
